Our Story

A History of Resilience

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nashville native, Samira Leach, realized the need to feed her community as schools began shutting down and meals were no longer readily available. Inspired to take action, Samira founded the nonprofit Window of Love to provide a daily lunch service to children in her North Nashville neighborhood.

As the pandemic slowed, Window of Love expanded its services beyond meals. Funded by donations from her community, Window of Love now provides youth with free educational resources, tutoring services, and immersive learning experiences, such as free visits to Nashville museums.

Serving between 50 to 75 children a day during the summer and other school breaks, Window of Love aims to provide an integrated system of community support, love, and encouragement. In doing so, we hope to make a long-lasting impact through kindness and a helping hand.

Philosophy

Leveraging Kindness to Create Change

At Window of Love, we believe that kindness is key. We want each and every child who visits the Window to know that they are loved, valued, and seen. Moreover, we hope to instill confidence in our youth so that they can grow to be change agents in our communities. Kindness and love are at the forefront of our mission, and together, by leading with love and loving with heart, we believe there is nothing we can’t accomplish.
